Visit our Endnote Distribution page and look for the “Download EndNote X4 for Windows” link. EndNote X4 adds compatibility with Microsoft Word 2010 along with a few interface and functionality updates such as the ability to create a “smart group” from a search. Quick Upgrade Instructions: Uninstall previous versions of EndNote before installing X4 (recommended). Make a copy of your library files (backup) and any customized Styles and Connection files you may have (most users do not).
The new EndNote X4 will install and open with the library from the previous version. If it cannot find the previously used libraries, use the Open commend (in the File menu) to open the previously backed up libraries. Please visit the EndNote Upgrade FAQ pages for additional information.
