EndNote published an update for the Macintosh version. EndNote 4.0.2 is now working with Microsoft Word 2011. There also other improvements. Users of previous versions can update their installation using the Help menu > EndNote Program Updates… option, or uninstall X4 and install X4.0.2. from Portico.
More Installation instructions and details about the improvements can be found on EndNote.com website.
Visit our Endnote Distribution page and look for the “Download EndNote X4 for Windows” link. EndNote X4 adds compatibility with Microsoft Word 2010 along with a few interface and functionality updates such as the ability to create a “smart group” from a search. Find out more on the the Endnote website.
Quick Upgrade Instructions: Uninstall previous versions of EndNote before installing X4 (recommended). Make a copy of your library files (backup) and any customized Styles and Connection files you may have (most users do not).
The new EndNote X4 will install and open with the library from the previous version. If it cannot find the previously used libraries, use the Open commend (in the File menu) to open the previously backed up libraries. Please visit the EndNote Upgrade FAQ pages for additional information.
Just a reminder that EndNote X4 is available for download at: http://dp.fuller.edu/index.php?id=187
While the library publishes the installation files for major program upgrades, please remember to check for updates often (use the EndNote Program Updates in the EndNote/Help menu).
