What I Do: The Library Director is responsible for the management of Fuller’s library collection, staff, and the provision of library services to patrons and others in the Fuller community. Duties include policy recommendation, departmental planning, and direction and administration of library activities. The position also makes the most important library technical decisions, and has thorough knowledge, skill and ability in every aspect of the Fuller library.
What I Do: The Department Assistant works closely with the Library Director and Acquisitions and Collections Development Librarian to assist with the daily office duties relating to the operations of the Fuller Library.
Archives and Special Collections
What I Do: The Archives & Special Collections Librarian ensures the effective acquisition, arrangement, description, preservation, and access to digital and manuscript collections within Fuller Seminary’s Institutional Archives and the David Du Plessis Center for Christian Spirituality Archives. Duties include facilitating the digitization of archival materials and enabling access to digital holdings on the Digital Commons @ Fuller Institutional Repository.
What I Do: The Archives Assistant works with the Archivist and responsibilities include processing archival items, helping to field archival requests, and assisting with creating metadata for media in the digital repository.
What I Do: The eReserves and Copyright Specialist (Korean) works to provide electronic access to documents for courses that do not have an electronic counterpart (i.e. eBook, eJournal). This position manages one work study person in the scanning of books and other documents needed. Items are then uploaded to the course’s Canvas eReserves page. This position will also be in contact with Korean publishers (both in writing and over the phone) to acquire copyright permissions.
What I Do: I work closely with the eReserves & Copyright Specialist to fulfill Reserves requests by faculty, in both digital and print formats.
What I Do: The Electronic Resources and Collection Development Generalist helps patrons access the Fuller Library’s electronic resources both in-person and remotely, fixing broken access points, as well as making sure all information listed on our digital platforms are updated and current. They ERCG also assists the Library Services Manager in collection development through weeding projects, collection analysis, and acquisition recommendation. What I Do: The Research Librarian & Community Outreach Specialist serves at one of the Information Access Services desks, provides bibliographic resources for students, faculty, and other patrons, including teaching the use of digital library resources. The Librarian Community Outreach Specialist also works with the Head of Electronic Services to develop, plan, promote, coordinate, execute, and participate in programs and events for the diverse patrons of Fuller Theological Seminary at the David Allan Hubbard Library. What I Do: The Electronic Resources Librarian provides leadership and customer service for the library’s technical support of its information systems, including website and social media, to ensure a seamless and accessible information discovery and delivery environment to Fuller library’s patrons, as well as promote a positive digital presence online, and also deals with the research, trials, and purchases of eMaterials (eBooks, eJournals, etc.).
Public Services & Information Commons
What I Do: The Manager of Library Public Services is responsible for managing Fuller patron access to library resources and services. These include managing public spaces in the library; circulation staff and processes; reserve collection processes; and interdepartmental projects. Uses social media and website to update Fuller’s campus communities of current issues and their resolution.
What I Do: The FT Circulation Assistant provides support for Fuller’s Information Commons, assist patrons at the Circulation Desk, and provide support for the Public Services Librarian and Information Commons Coordinator.
What I Do: The Head Cataloging Librarian supervises all cataloging, execute original and copy cataloging. A key objective is to facilitate excellent library experiences for users by creating and supporting seamless access to library resources and collections.
What I Do: The Head of Acquisitions position is responsible for providing leadership and guidance in coordinating the direction and balance of library collections for the Hubbard Library by serving as a bibliographic expert and materials procurer.
What I Do: The Cataloging and Metadata Librarian is a part of the cataloging operations, implement metadata schema for our online institutional repository, provide awareness relative to the creation and use of metadata records, and develop metadata policies, procedures, and workflows.
What I Do: The Korean Language Cataloging Assistant works closely with the Head Cataloging Librarian and the Assistant Cataloger by cataloging print materials.
