ATLA Religion (including ATLAS), an American Theological Library Association database, indexes journal articles, essays, and book reviews in all fields of religion.
ATLAS is a digital collection of over 550 full text journals in religion and theology combined with over 1,100 actively indexed journals.
One of the strengths of this database is rich content: the project has digitized journal issues going back about 50 years or more.

Black History Month

Black History Month is an annual celebration that received official recognition from governments in the United States and Canada, and more recently has been observed in Ireland and the United Kingdom, and other locations. 

Let’s honor the African Americans who contributed to the rich legacy of their ancestors and many-many our Brothers and Sisters who continue to inspire us today.   

Do you know “Lift Every Voice and Sing” , a hymn written by NAACP leader James Weldon Johnson in 1900 and set to music by his brother, J. Rosamond Johnson was adopted by the NAACP as the Black National Anthem in 1919?

Display Issue with Library Catalog Advanced Search

Dear Hubbard Library Patrons,

There is currently a known error in the display of selected databases within the advanced search feature of the library catalog.

Please be aware that the vendor who manages our library catalog (OCLC) is aware of the issue and working on a resolution.

In the meantime, students and faculty are still able to conduct searches from the advanced search page and select their desired databases from the righthand database menu (instructions here). The error does not affect search functionality, but rather the correct database selections do not display properly after clicking “save changes.”

To repeat, the advanced search page will still search your selected databases, and you can (correctly) view which databases are selected by expanding the “All Databases” menu and viewing which boxes are selected. The “Searching Databases” section and (accompanying number) will likely be inaccurate until OCLC provides further updates.

Similarly, the “Reset” button continues to function as normal by restoring the default database selections, but you will need to expand one of the lower menus to see the selections accurately.

Alumni Access to EBSCO Databases

Due to the vendor updates, you can now access EBSCO databases available for alumni access (EBSCO ebooks, ATLA Serials, Religion Collection, and Audiobook Collection) through our Library Services for Alumni: Electronic Resources page, where you will find a complete list of databases available for alumni patrons. Accessing them through other library sites such as the WorldCat item record page or the Database page may prevent you from viewing the full-text content.

After Hours Book Pick Up

The library has after hours pick up for books starting on Monday. October 18, 2021. These lockers are for students who need to pick items while the library is closed. The library has a limited number of lockers and is on a first come, first served, basis. To request a after locker pickup please use the Hold function located in the library catalog.

David Allan Hubbard Library – Fall 2021 Guidelines

In preparation for fall 2021 quarter and to welcome new and returning students to campus, the following guidelines are in effect for the David Allan Hubbard Library:

  • – For fall 2021, Library hours will mirror those of Welcome Center, with additional hours on Saturday (Library only). These hours are as follows: Mon – Thur [9am – 5pm] Fri [9am – 12pm] Sat [1pm – 4pm]
  • – Patrons must complete a symptom check each day they visit campus, before entering any building, including the Library.
  • – Masks are still required for entry and throughout the duration of a patron’s visit. Unmasked individuals will be asked to wear a mask indoors, and they may be asked to leave if they refuse to comply with this guideline.
  • – Entry to the library and library study spaces are limited to current Fuller Theological Seminary students, faculty, and staff at this time. We may allow additional patrons in early 2022.
  • – Socially distant book return is still available through the book return outside the front library doors.

Books Are On The Move!

Dear Hubbard Library Patrons,

The library is in the process of shifting around books in our building. Currently, we are moving the Reference Books (formerly located in the DePree Reading Room) into the Weyerhaeuser Reading Room. Our Pannell Center and Centro Latino books will then be moved into the DePree Reading Room on the first floor.
